Haven’t made cards in awhile, so tonight I’m making some 5×5 cards. I’m drawn to these purpley-blues, I don’t know why! I went with a vintage/shabby look on this one. I’m trying really hard not to buy a lot of stuff since I’m loaded to the gills with stuff in my craft room, it’s hard not to buy all the latest… but years of buying all the latest has left me with more product than I can hope to use, so I’m on a self-emposed shopping strike. Here’s my card and the ingredients are below:
DCWV Glitter papers, Jenni Bowlin label, Apron Lace border punch from Fiskars, a digital image that I created, a photocopied page from a book and ribbon, a flower, a vintage button and gems from my stash. I inked my edges in CTMH chocolate ink. This card is available for purchase on Etsy. Thanks so much for looking!
Tonight I watched the Young Women’s General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints online. Even though it’s geared for the young women in the church aged 12-18, this older woman got a lot out of it… the theme was how to stand strong amidst the turmoil and temptation in the world. The talks were all excellent; something that Elaine S. Dalton said, about what God sees in each of us, inspired me to make this little card tonight.
I’ve used a digital stamp from Squigglefly, called “Princess Mia” and colored it in with my Copics. My paper is from DCWV, and I’ve used some Prima Flowers, buttons and Waxy Flax. I’ve also used the Fiskars Apron Lace punch, as well as my Nestabilities. The font that I used on my sentiment is called Rickles and it’s free from Dafont.
Thank you for looking at my blog today!
1 card – 3 challenges! Here is my card for 2 Sketches 4 You, Caardvarks (using lace) and Color Throwdown. Since I don’t have the SU! colors, I tried to match them with my stash. My stamped images are from Verve and CTMH, some vintage ribbon and lace from my stash… well everything is from my stash! The papers are all CTMH. I love this little Sentiment stamp — I think it’s really sweet.
Thanks so much for looking at my card!
This is my first entry at Friday Sketchers – here is their sketch this week:
Here is my take on it… I love these rainbow sherbet colors, especially on a gray and dreary day like today!! This is a 5″x5″ card – my stamped image is a digi-stamp from Bee Crafty that I’ve colored in with Copics. I’ve mounted her on a die cut label that I cut out with my nesties and ran through the swiss dots embossing folder on my Cuttlebug. Papers are from CTMH, KI Memories and DCWV. Flower stickers are from K & Co. The “Just Because” sticker is from Stampendous.
Thanks so much for visting my blog today!
Today I am home sick with Strep Throat – ugh… I think the antibiotics are finally starting to kick in because instead of feeling like someone is holding a hot iron to my throat 24/7, now it just feels like gargling with glass shards – only when I swallow! That’s progress! Anyway, making cards is distracting me from my troubles! I made this card for my Mom since St. Patrick’s day is near and dear to her heart. First, here is the sketch:
On my card, all my papers are from CTMH and I’ve focused on the color Juniper with cream accents and some distressing in Desert Sand. I’ve also used the Apron Lace punch from Fiskars. The antique lace, ribbon, jute, pearls and shamrock button are from my stash. My sentiment has been floating around in my miscellaneous bag for years — it’s from My Mind’s Eye circa 2002, so I’m glad to finally use it. I distressed it a bit with some more desert sand ink. Here is the finished product…

Tonight I made a card for a challenge blog that is new to me, Kelly’s Stamp Pad, where every Monday she has the Color Chef Challenge. The colors for this week were Black, Cream and Green. Here is my card that I made and will give to my hubbs for our 27th wedding anniversary later this week!
The papers and stamps are all by CTMH. I’ve embellished with some black gems from the dollar bin at Archiver’s, and ribbon, buttons and black hemp from my stash. I sanded my black cardstock, and inked around the edges of the cream cardstock and the green patterned paper in cocoa ink.
Thanks for looking!
Dreary winter in Minnesota… so I needed something bright! Here is the Card Positioning Systems Sketch #155 for this week:
And here is my take on it — I flipped it sideways.
My stamp image is from Teresa Collins — I love her sentiments and graphics! The papers are all from KI Memories. Thanks for looking!
