OK, this sketch has a little “positive-negative” thing going on. I actually heat embossed using red and white embossing powder and Versamark, by trimming 2 half-pieces, matching them up to make a square, stamping in Versamark, separating them and embossing in their respective colors, and then putting them back together again. The stamp set is Homespun Christmas from CTMH and the papers are Evensong and Tulip CS.

Croppers Club is Wednesday night — we are making this layout from Jeanette Lynton’s “Imagine” book — papers are CTMH’s Magic Moments line. Croppers will pick out their own titles, so I’ve left that off.
I got this cowboy stamp two years ago in a bargain bin at a LSS, and used it for the first time tonight. I have no idea what company it’s from — there is no label or imprint on the stamp, but I loved the image when I got it, and I think he’s such a cutie! All the other stamps are CTMH October Word Puzzle, and the papers are also CTMH. I stamped the little guy, colored him in with markers and watercolor pencils/water brush, then masked him and stamped stars all around him… sponged on Goldrush and Desert Sand which is my favorite combo for antiquing… then I edged in Desert Sand. The ribbons and candycorn brads I just picked up along the way somewhere (?).
And I love the colors! This will be Project #1 of my new Card Club starting in October. This is an altered “My Acrylix” tote — the papers are “Game On” by CTMH, accented with Hollyhock and Blush accessories.
The stamp set I used for the title is Chocolate Alphabet Large, from the new 2008 Fall Idea Book.
This club will have 6 members — each member takes a turn being the hostess for 6 months. As a club member, you receive your idea books free, you make 4 cards, and get to participate in a monthly door prize — in return, members make a minimum $25 purchase — we total up those orders and they equal a “party” and somebody gets to pick the hostess gifts that month.
If you would like more information about participating in my Hostess Card Club, please send me an e-mail — I would love to tell you more about it! All Club classes are held at my home, so no need to clean 🙂
Another card idea for a swap I’m in… here is my sketch — forgive the “sketchyness” of it, I’m not super-proficient at computerizing these and making them look more professional — hopefully you get the idea…
And here is my completed card:
This card is using all product from Close To My Heart. I’ve used the new stamp set “October Word Puzzle” as well as the brackets from the “Chocolate Alphabet – Large”. I’d love to see your work if you’d like to try this sketch! E-mail me a copy of your card and I will publish it on my blog and give you kudos for it. Happy cardmaking!
