Long time no see…

Since I last posted, lots has been going on… namely a big change in my papercrafting life, and that is I resigned from Close To My Heart after 6+ years… It was a combination of a lot of different reasons… caregiving for an elderly parent was up there, sad because I never seem to do my own projects anymore and a desire to do other creative things besides just cardmaking and scrapbooking. The departure from CTMH has been a good one… I still love the product and always will but it’s nice not to feel guilty about using non-CTMH products! That being said, tomorrow I am teaching a class for Relief Society and we are having our first of hopefully many, card swaps. This is a new small group that we are starting and we’re meeting at our local Panera Bread tomorrow night. There are a few beginners so this will be the make and take — I didn’t go crazy with embellies or detailing because I am hoping that other card makers will volunteer to teach, as I don’t want to be the only one!

After the make and take, we’ll swap cards and sit and visit at Panera. When I called to ask them if it was ok to do a class there, they told me that they have a couple of knitting clubs that meet there, so I thought it might be a nice change from the 14 mile drive to the chapel! Here is a picture of the card that I made for my swaps.

The papers on this project are all from CTMH and are called Life Delights. Stamps are also CTMH. The papers are pretty girly and I don’t do a lot of girly scrapping so it was fun to make cards with this paper. I also used CTMH Edge Anchors, and buttons, brads and ribbon from my stash.

Saturday, I’m going to a crop for the day with a friend and look forward to scrapping my son’s pics from the play he was in last week, The Sound of Music.

Rolf and Liesl 🙂

I was a very proud mom, this was his first high school play and he played the part of Rolf. Of course I’m biased, but I thought he did a terrific job!
