I love the Sound of Music. Ever since I was a little girl, I remember watching it every Christmas at Gammie’s house. We are a Sound of Music family. I know all the songs, and one of my happiest memories is my cousin Jana and I singing in our best opera voices for our grandma. She was 89 years old at the time and I don’t know if I’d ever seen her laugh as hysterically at us as she did.
Anyway, when I found out that South St Paul High School’s musical was going to be Sound of Music this year, I told Matt, “You have to try out!!! That’s my favorite!!!” He said, “I don’t think so… Brian’s trying to get me to try out too…” Evidently Brian is much more persuasive than I am because he was able to talk Matt into it. Matt auditioned and got the part of Rolf. We knew he was a ham, but had no idea he could sing, and sing nicely! So the past few months the excitement of rehearsals, and making new friends in play practices has been going full steam. Last week all their hard work paid off and the play was great — my mommy heart just about burst with pride seeing him up on stage.
Today I went to a crop at Bethesda Lutheran Church with my friends Sue O. and Donna K. and had fun spending time working on this page. It was nice to take my time — I love crops, no ringing phones, no chores, just scrapping nirvana.
All the papers/Stickers in this page are from Close To My Heart, and the papers are called “Good Times”. I also used Bitty Brads.
