Less than 24 hours ago, I was just me.
Now I am an expectant grandmother. My heart is so full. I’ve dreamed of this since I was 6 years old. Seriously, since I was 6 years old. My wonderful grandmother was so much fun to be around I thought to myself, “I want to bake cookies all day and have my grandchildren come and stay at my house on Saturdays and Sundays and play with me. But I’m afraid my name doesn’t sound right. I don’t have a name like Doris or Dorothy or Mildred. I hope I can still be a grandma with a name like Susie.” That thought crossed my mind over 40 years ago.
With all Heavenly Father has to do for His children, I am overjoyed that he thought to bless my sweet daughter and son-in-law, and our family. But in all this, my heart is the most grateful for a beautiful and brave young woman who is choosing to make our dreams come true in less than 3 short months. I plead to the Heavens that the Lord keeps her safe in His tender care and showers His love down upon her every moment of every day.
My heart is filled to overflowing.
Here is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week…
And here is the card I made with the sketch. An old stamp (little girl is Inky Antics) and a new stamp (for me!) from Autumn Leaves. I used my trusty colored pencils on the girl… one of these days I will have to invest in Copics but for now colored pencils will have to do. Ribbons, waxy flax, button and pearlies are all from my stash; Paper is from American Crafts and my scallop shape is an SU! punch.
Oh dear… I stayed up way past my bedtime tonight… I need to hit the sack! Thanks for looking!
Raspberry Tart paper by SU! is sitting on my table… I’ve had it for a year and have just started using it. I love the colors, I don’t know why I didn’t pull it out earlier. Stamps are CTMH, Nesties Labels 1, some button stacking and that’s about it! Here is the link to Mojo Monday #108 – Thanks for looking!
…purely by accident as I was blog hopping… it’s called SophistiCat Challenges and I decided to try their challenge.
This is the card I made today…
I used some paper by SU! called “Raspberry Tart” – I love the rose and grassy colors of it! My stamps are by CTMH, and I’ve used an SU! corner punch as well as some sticky pearls and buttons for bling. Thanks for looking at my card!
Here is my take on Laura’s sketch #36… I’ve used Jenni Bowlin papers, Fiskars and Stampin’ Up punches and a CTMH stamp. So happy to use some antique lace from my stash — I love JB’s vintage look. Also distressed some edges with ink and a paper distresser. Thanks for looking!
It’s been a long time since I spent a Saturday crafting, but Sheryl and Alisa came over and we just played with paper all afternoon! It was fun, I made pumpkin bars with brown butter frosting (to die for if I may say so myself), we watched general conference on the laptop while we crafted, and here are some cards I had fun making.
This one I’m submitting to Stampington’s Take Ten “We Challenge You” – based on the sketch they provided.
I love the cherry paper from Graphic 45! The Smile stamp is from CTMH, I also used my cool new Fiskars edge punch on this.
Another card I made was based solely on the paper — it’s Basic Grey Urban Prairie, and I love the little birds. The stripey paper is from CTMH. Again, used that fun new punch, and another stamp from CTMH.
Here is a card that I made for Beate’s challenge – Weekend Sketch Challenge #100. Again, using that cute paper from Basic Grey, stamp from CTMH, punches from Stampin’ Up.
Thanks for looking at my cards!
