Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

1 card – 3 challenges! Here is my card for 2 Sketches 4 You, Caardvarks (using lace) and Color Throwdown. Since I don’t have the SU! colors, I tried to match them with my stash. My stamped images are from Verve and CTMH, some vintage ribbon and lace from my stash… well everything is from my stash! The papers are all CTMH. I love this little Sentiment stamp — I think it’s really sweet.
Thanks so much for looking at my card!

Mojo Monday #129 and St. Patty’s Day!

Today I am home sick with Strep Throat – ugh… I think the antibiotics are finally starting to kick in because instead of feeling like someone is holding a hot iron to my throat 24/7, now it just feels like gargling with glass shards – only when I swallow! That’s progress! Anyway, making cards is distracting me from my troubles! I made this card for my Mom since St. Patrick’s day is near and dear to her heart. First, here is the sketch:
On my card, all my papers are from CTMH and I’ve focused on the color Juniper with cream accents and some distressing in Desert Sand. I’ve also used the Apron Lace punch from Fiskars. The antique lace, ribbon, jute, pearls and shamrock button are from my stash. My sentiment has been floating around in my miscellaneous bag for years — it’s from My Mind’s Eye circa 2002, so I’m glad to finally use it. I distressed it a bit with some more desert sand ink. Here is the finished product…

Color Chef Challenge #40

Tonight I made a card for a challenge blog that is new to me, Kelly’s Stamp Pad, where every Monday she has the Color Chef Challenge. The colors for this week were Black, Cream and Green. Here is my card that I made and will give to my hubbs for our 27th wedding anniversary later this week!

The papers and stamps are all by CTMH. I’ve embellished with some black gems from the dollar bin at Archiver’s, and ribbon, buttons and black hemp from my stash. I sanded my black cardstock, and inked around the edges of the cream cardstock and the green patterned paper in cocoa ink.

Thanks for looking!

Waiting and Wishing for Spring, and CPS 153

I’m sitting at my desk by the window looking at 4′ tall berms of dirty snow alongside my front curb… there are coke-slurpee-like puddles in the street and under all that snow is the planter I put in last spring and I can’t wait to get flowers into it. It’s still at least two months until bulb flowers even have a chance at blooming! For me, February is the longest, not the shortest month! The card below is more for myself, but I’m sure I can think of somebody to send it to.

I recently purchased my first digital stamp from Bee-Crafty where there are some super sweet images. I also recently splurged on Copics, so I’m still getting my feet wet with those. Papers are Let’s Get Together by CTMH, with gems and ribbon from my stash.

My next card uses the same image and is my take on the CPS 153 sketch.

I used papers from Creating Keepsakes (from JoAnn’s), Heidi Grace rub-ons, a stamp from CTMH and some pearlies. I colored the girl in with Copics. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Mojo Monday, #108

Raspberry Tart paper by SU! is sitting on my table… I’ve had it for a year and have just started using it. I love the colors, I don’t know why I didn’t pull it out earlier. Stamps are CTMH, Nesties Labels 1, some button stacking and that’s about it! Here is the link to Mojo Monday #108 – Thanks for looking!mojo_108

World Card Making Day

It’s been a long time since I spent a Saturday crafting, but Sheryl and Alisa came over and we just played with paper all afternoon! It was fun, I made pumpkin bars with brown butter frosting (to die for if I may say so myself), we watched general conference on the laptop while we crafted, and here are some cards I had fun making.

This one I’m submitting to Stampington’s Take Ten “We Challenge You” – based on the sketch they provided.
cherry smile card

I love the cherry paper from Graphic 45! The Smile stamp is from CTMH, I also used my cool new Fiskars edge punch on this.

Another card I made was based solely on the paper — it’s Basic Grey Urban Prairie, and I love the little birds. The stripey paper is from CTMH. Again, used that fun new punch, and another stamp from CTMH.

Here is a card that I made for Beate’s challenge – Weekend Sketch Challenge #100. Again, using that cute paper from Basic Grey, stamp from CTMH, punches from Stampin’ Up. 100509 sub118

Relief Society Card Club tonight!

We started this in January of this year and it’s getting more and more popular. Tonight we are having “Christmas in July” and I am teaching the make and take. This has been a lot of fun, because we have different sisters taking turns doing the make and take each month, and tonight for the first time, we’ve split into two swapping groups. The idea was to stop at 10 people, but we had 16 people sign up tonight so we have two swapping groups!

Tonight I’m teaching the make and take and I’ve made a Gift Card project…

Gift Card Holder

Gift Card Holder

The finished project makes a 4″x4″ card. I’ve used the Emporium papers from CTMH, a CTMH snowman stamp, I’ve chalked around the background of the stamped image, and used some SU! punches and corner rounders. The inside of the card holder looks like this:

I’ve done a similar project like this before back when I was a CTMH consultant, but not with this group — for the “holder part, you just pull a credit card out of your wallet, stick a couple of picture corners at the bottom corners as a guide, and place on your card where you want them to go. The card folds up, the little band slips over it to hold it in place and voila!

I’m also swapping tonight… this card is made with CTMH Evensong papers, and an Angel Company stamp. I’ve also used a couple of SU! punches, the lace punch and the ticket corner punch. Also Sparkles and Picture Hangers from CTMH and some stash ribbon.

The nicest thing about our Card Club, is we have it at a local Panera Bread. It’s actually closer to most of us than our church building, many of the sisters meet an hour early to have dinner together and Panera is very friendly about letting us meet there. No dining room to tidy up!! 🙂
